Zoom Workshop Session 1: Thurs., March 19, from 7-8:30 p.m. AT
Zoom Workshop Session 2: Thurs., March 26, from 7-8:30 p.m. AT
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
In this two-part workshop, participants will be asked to explore their own creative expression as people working in a medical context. To guide this process, Apostolides will provide a framework for helping participants enter the ‘space’ of writing: specifically, she will prompt participants to think of writing as observation, imagination, and thought. That deeper discussion will be coupled with writing strategies, tips, and techniques drawn from Apostolides’s thirty-year literary career. This workshop aims to achieve two goals: to give medical professionals the tools and encouragement to write; and to identify the possibilities (and complexities) of combining writing with medical practice.
